How To: Hunt & Brew Wild Passionflower

CIMG2638

The Passionflower is a unique and breathtaking flower and herb. Not only does Passionflower look like its from another galaxy but It's medicinal properties have been used for centuries to heal dis-eases of the mind such as fibromyalgia, insomnia, irregular heart beat, epilepsy, gastrointestinal (GI), ADHD, asthma, menopause, hysteria, and seizures. These flowers are attached to bunches of vines. Passionflowers are a light purple-blueish color. But they can range to other colors depending on species.
Passion flower is also known as Passiflora. When hunting for them or stumbling upon them in the wild it is necessary to check the color pattern in the center of the flower. If there is a black ring it is poisonous. If there the ring is white, you're alright! Passionflowers also bear fruit that can be made to a healing juice. Passion flower leaves can also be used on the skin for inflammation.
When ingesting passionflower you can either dehydrate the leaves, vines, flowers, and make powder for capsules. Or you have the option to use the plant fresh and make a medicinal tea! Check out my new Medicinal Herbal Tea Recipes page! Passionflower is my first post of the page! Yay! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a beautiful day!
